almostDone.

Feels good to say we're finally done with Hometown Hero. Took a long time to do that, a lot of songs didn't make it that I wanted to due to sample clearannce and other legal fuckery but it's all good, I plan on dropping some more free shit for y'all the top of 2011. Hardwork and late nights is all I been seeing these past couple...its been worth while. I'm thankful for all the people who been riding with me since day 1, and to all the new people rolling with me. My album drops in stores/itunes October 26th.

8 Days To Record
For everybody sending me messages asking about the meaning behind the project and the details on it, I thought to break it down a little...I know Big K.R.I.T. made a track titled “Hometown Hero”. But anyone that's been following me knows we came up with this project the beginning of '09, it took so long to finish this because of changes of studios, and me wanting to perfect this. I thought the name alone stood for something big, now it's becoming bigger than we planned it to be. I felt like this is a project for everybody I know, have met, everyone in my city, and all over. That's a hometown hero. Not saying I'm saving my city...but I am in a way. I got 8 days left til I have to turn this project in, so right now as I blog this via the studio, I'm mixing and recording final tracks. I kept it light on the features, its more so about me, LaVish. I'm proud of every song off this. October 26th y'all!!!! Tell a friend

October 26th
I'm not fond of dropping dates for my releases, but expect this on time as far as my knowledge goes. “Hometown Hero”. Anybody that's been following me knows I been pumping this for awhile now. I recently got a distribution deal with iHip Hop, I won't say all the details on that, but I'm blessed for the oppurtunity. We got a lot lined up for the near future, new site coming so I won't be on this much. I been putting everyday into this project, working with the right people for the right reasons. Everybody wanna work with the right people for the wrong reasons, meaning just for the buzz and exposure. I'm not big on features, so whoever I do feature will be out of love and respect for their music. October 26th is looking like the official release date, via stores, itunes, etc. No more free downloads. I think I've given enough free music away, now its about support and see who really appreciates the music. I'm not looking to sell a platinum album because I know I'm not there yet, but it won't hurt to distribute my own shit and get us poppin. That's why if you got something you highly believe in, don't short yourself on how far you can take it.

It's a daily process of progress to get where I'm trying to go.
I feel like I'm Dr. Dre working on Detox. Something people been waiting on for forever. I don't like talking about what I got going but for the people paying attention, I guess they deserve to know a little something. The process of Hometown Hero is a crazy one, every song I learn more about myself. I feel the difference between this and my past mixtapes is more aggression, more about Dijon, and not LaVish. I looked back on those projects and told myself people deserve to know the real me, it gets deeper than what I'm wearing, or what girls I'm messing with. Listeners now can't be cheated, they shouldn't be. I wanna show people who I am as a all around artist. Not rapper. I produced a lot of the album because I had some shit to say that no other producer could offer. It's my story. It's who I am. I got some motivation and drive from watching the people who I admire as people. And artist. Most rappers now paint a facade for you, I just want to give those who know about me and even more so the ones who don't, a reason to fall in love with my message, my story, my glory. I'm not perfect, so I may say some shit you may not agree with, with songs like Women Be Shopping, but it all makes sense and hopefully everyone can enjoy. All of August I'm just going to be pushing this project and perfecting it as much as possible. Spread the word for me. New site coming soon as well. In the meantime, be cool.

i don't do too much blogging..
Been absent from my blog lately, out here working on the project and a million and one other things. I've learned to keep what you got going silent, everyone doesn't need to know your business. As long as they can see the work and what you're getting out of it, that's enough. These past few weeks I've been learning a lot, but it's all been lessons learned, no complaints, just growth. Hometown Hero, coming soon.
